Agenda: Service Committee Monthly Meeting
The meeting was called to order: at 10:01 a.m. by John R. and opened with the Serenity Prayer

- July’s meeting was cancelled due to not enough people for a quorum
- A motion was made by Jeanne to accept the minutes from last month and Suzy seconded. Report was accepted.
- Landlord state that we will not hear back from him until October
Vice Chairperson : Vince C Not in attendance

Treasury Report: Lisa
- Jay has stepped down and Lisa will now be the new Treasurer
- A motion was made by John to accept the June 2026 Treasurer Report, seconded by Ben. and the report was accepted
General Services Rep (GSR) – (Information by Jeanne O)
- Monthly Committee Meeting on Monday August 10th at 7PM online. Reports from officers and Area Committee Chairs, and discussion about proposed agenda items
- On Sunday, August 30th from 0900-1230 there will be a special assembly at Kennedy HS in Silver Spring, There will be discussion about proposed changes to Area 13 Policy and Procedures, and possibly some more discussion about the proposed agenda items (PAIs).
- On Monday, September 14th at 7PM there will be an Area Assembly and registered Area 13 DCMs and GSRs (or alternates), officers and committee chairs will vote on the proposed changes to policies and procedures and which PAIs will be submitted from the Area.
- The Area 13 WAGSA Gratitude Breakfast will be held on Sunday, November 8 from 8:30-1130 AM, Cost is $60 per seat. For current ticket information, google WAGSA.
- A flyer advertises the Washington General Service Assembly’s 40th annual Gratitute Breakfast, held November 8, 2026, at the College Park Marriot Hotel, with tivkets costing $60, supporting AA’s self-sufficiency.
Washington Area Intergroup Association (WAIA):
- Need a committee to help with the GALA
- Service positions are on our website and WAIA website
Hospitals & Institutions – Vincent and Thomas – Not in Attendance
- Nothing to report
Chips: – Mike D.
- Request for newcomer packets- however, no way to get to them as its an active construction site
- Will ask Alano for help
Publications Report – Mike D.
- Nothing to report as of today.
Supplies – Ben C
- Sent report regarding the picnic shopping list
- Ben suggested that we take the count of supplies from 100 to 80 to save cost. A motion was made to drop to 80 and John seconded.
- Ben to redo the list based on 80 people and resend
Secretary Coordinator – Shawn G. Not Present
- Nothing to report
Virtual Meeting Coordinator – Jeanne O.
- Suggested a breakout room as a feature in case we need it
- Need to find a new chairperson for Monday 7 p.m. Traditions meeting otherwise it will be cancelled
Website – John R. – Report Submitted
- Sent out report and stats
- Added Alano Picnic
Old Business:
- Jeanne stated we should plan the picnic for September – Final check was sent to Laurel Parks and Recreation. Suzy to get the keys for the restroom
- We would need new supplies for the picnic, John to reach out to Ben – Been has created the list per the new notes below
New Business
- Jeff to keep all the perishables for the picnic at his house
- People have volunteered to be there at 10 a.m. and staying all day
- 50/50 will take place however, no facepainting that day
- Vincent will do the grill
